May 11, 2026
This weekend was a big one for the SDC (Super Dirft Competition) series. For those of you who have followed SDC from the early beginning of the Super-G Anniversary Meet, to the Super Drift Championship, to the current day Super Drift Competition Series. You definitely know there has been some growth. This weekend we finally were able to launch the SDC/RCDrift.io portal and give it a full test. Needless to say, we were nervous. We have all been putting in the time to get it dialed and we knew if it didn't go smoothly it could mean the final battle in the early morning hours. I'm happy to say SDC/RCDrift.io worked amazingly smooth! I will save the details for another time, but I want to give a huge shout out to Josh Parrett for his amazing work and dedication to this project. You. Are. Da. Man!

SDC2026 SoCal Region Round 2! 57 Competitors!!!

This round was on the smaller side with only 57 competitors. We were missing a few of our regulars who showed up for the after-sesh. Hopefully we'll see them for Round 3.

The Judges
This round the guys in charge were Shaine Collins, Manny Campalans, and Brandon Britt. I cannot stress enough how much these guys put in for SDC. It's always challenging to judge even a Top 32 competition, but when you are almost doubling that, you need to really be comfortable in handling the task at hand. I am amazed how comfortably you all lock in and maintain your focus. Everyone owes you a huge thank you!!!

Top Qualifier - Matthew Peterson of Team Rev Up!!!

The layout this time around really pushed the guys out of the confort zone. As with most layouts, we want the competitors to need to dig deep and test their skills. It is always a good feeling to compare the lines everyone is pulling when we first open to the lines they are pulling during comp time. Everyone leaves with another trick in their back pocket to use when they need. Come October, the drivers will be well rounded in their skill sets.

Qualifying Scores - Top Qualifier - Matthew Peterson of Team Rev Up

Qualifying
It's obvious everyone's skills are just elevating daily. There were many really good qualifying runs, but it looked like Zone 3 was giving a lot of people a little bit of trouble. One person who did not have any issues was Matthew Peterson of Team Rev Up. He came in and threw down a solid 89 point run! The next closest runner up was and even 80 points by Jason Fordyce. Congratulation Matthew for landing TQ of the event!!! It was something to witness!

Lower Bracket - Jalen Grajo Team Rolling Garage Bumps to Top 32!

The Battles (Tsuiso)
First up was the Bottom 25 Bracket. The battles in the Bottom 25 were all really good. Jalen Grajo of Team Rolling Garage owned the Bottom 25 Bracket and worked his way into the 31st spot in the Top 32! Good job Jalen!

Top 32 Bracket

Top 32
Then it was time for the Top 32. This is what is was all about! Jalen would be matched with Jason Fordyce of Team Super-G. Both put down really good leads and chases, but when it came down to Zone 3, Jason was able to fill it completely on his lead and Jalen fell a little short. This would end his winning streak for the day.

The Final 4
Then it came down to the Final 4. Jason Fordyce of Team Super-G vs. Yogi Hamilton of Team Tandem RC for 1st and 2nd, and Alfredo Chan III of Team Weld/Overdose vs. Alex Kingsbury of Dialed In. First up was Alfredo vs. Alex. Both drivers put down some amazing runs, but Alfredo was able to do it just a little bit better. This secured 3rd place for Alfredo.

The Final Battle - Jason Fordyce - Team Super-G vs. Yogi Hamilton - Team Tandem RC

Finally it was what the entire day was about, Jason vs. Yogi for 1st and 2nd! All eyes were on Yogi since he had battled his way through some serious heavy hitters. Right off, Yogi put down a phenomenal Lead and Jason answered back with an equally impressive Chase! It was really something to watch! Then they switched it up and Jason was on the lead and Yogi on the Chase. Jason was putting down one of his winning runs that we have become accustomed to seeing, while Yogi was right on Jason's door applying some kind of wicked pressure. It was going to be close for sure! Then it happened, just as they were passing through Zone 4, Yogi applying ridiculous pressure, Jason had the slightest miscalculation and tapped the barrier. This was enough to give Jason 2nd Place, and Yogi to take the top spot on the Podium with a well deserved 1st Place!!!

Congratulations to the winners! Yogi Hamilton - First Place, Jason Fordyce - Second Place, and Alfredo Chan III - Third Place!!! You guys killed it!!!

SDC2026 SoCal Region Round 3 - July 11, 2026!
SEE YOU GUYS THERE!!!
