The SDC 2026 SoCal Region Point Series this year was definitely a big change from the previous years. Here at Super-G we had reduced the number of rounds this year in hopes of traveling more and having more time to handle the behind the scenes tasks. As it turned out, there was a lot more to handle this year, and with the addition of RCDrift.io, there was more time spent on the behind the scenes than we had anticipated. Luckily we did only have 4 rounds this time around. We plan to have more SoCal rounds for 2027.

That being said, this season was still an exciting one.

Round 1, the top 3 finishers were First - Jason Fordyce (Team Super-G), Second - Alfredo Chan III (Team Weld / Overdose), and Third - Mikko Yang (Reve D USA). Top Qualifier - Alfredo Chan III. Interestingly enough, these 3 would be the top 3 podium finishers for the SDC 2026 SoCal Region Point Series.

Round 2, Yogi Hamilton came to down and to SoCal and pulled a First! Yogi literally battled each of the Top 3, and eliminated them all! What am I saying? I don’t know, but I’m saying something. At the end of the day Round 2 was First - Yogi Hamilton, Second, Alfredo Chan III, and Third - Jason Fordyce. Top Qualifier - Matthew Peterson

Round 3, Mikko Yang came back to redeem himself. It was clear from watching him during practice, he was out for blood this round. First - Mikko Yang, Second - Alfredo Chan III, and Third - Shaine Collins! Top Qualifier - Alfredo Chan III.

SoCal Region Round 3 - Top Qualifier - Alfredo Chan III

Round 4 (Regional Finals). Coming into Round 4, the points between Alfredo, Jason, and Mikko were tight. The title of SDC 2026 SoCal Regional Champion was on the line, and depending on how it all played out, any of these 3 could take it. Jason pulled off Top Qualifier, but was eliminated and took 9th place. Mikko made it to the Semi-Finals, but was eliminated taking 4th. Alfredo did what Alfredo does, and took the win! First - Alfredo Chan III, Second - Jalen Grajo, and Third - Parsa Godazandeh! Top Qualifier - Jason Fordyce.

We have been watching Jalen Grajo and Parsa Godazandeh building their skills over the past few years, and it was great seeing them cross over and landing themselves on the podium here in SoCal! That is no easy feat! We look forward to seeing these guys on the podium more often.

Over all, the Top 3 for the the SDC 2026 SoCal Region Point Series is:
First Place - Alfredo Chan III with 46.0 Points
Second Place - Jason Fordyce with 41.5 Points
Third Place - Mikko Yang with 37.0 Points

Congratulations to these Top 3 of the SoCal Region.

As we all know, there can only be ONE Regional Champion, and that title belongs to Alfredo Chan III of Team Weld / Overdose! Taking TQ in 50% of the rounds, and making sure he lands on the podium every round, it’s no surprise Alfredo is the Regional Champion. Being a good driver is only part of the battle. Being able to hold it together when the pressure is on is where the champions really shine.

Alfredo will go on to represent SoCal at SDC 2026 Worlds in the Special Round - SDC 2026 U.S. Championship - Battle of Champions! This is where the very best competitors of each SDC Region who made it to Worlds will face off in a Random Tandem Bracket to decide who truly is the SDC 2026 U.S. Champion
