D-Like LP-86 Challenge Take 2 - Spec Class Fun!!!
After our trial run of the LP-86 Spec Class, we learned a few things.
The most obvious for us, this is a seriously fun class! Removing the tuning aspect, as well as keeping the power levels about equal, just takes most of the stress out of this class. Handling the stress of competing, that’s on you though. It is a good way to learn how to settle those comp nerves without wondering if you are at a disadvantage because you are not good at tuning or didn’t spend the big bucks on your setup. This is all driver!
Winners of the first LP-86 Challenge: Joe Durkee - First Place, Jonathan Belda - Second Place, and Vittorio Santiago - Third Place!
There were also a few different levels of modified LP-86 chassis. For the most part, there didn’t seem to be any advantages or disadvantages to any of them. We have modified our rules to allow these changes. We have also made some changes to address any modifications that could undermine the meaning of this stock class.
Rogue Factory will be hosting the LP-86 Challenge - Take 2 on Saturday, July 26, 2025. This will be the same as the first, where there will be an Open Class Fun Comp AND the D-Like LP-86 Spec Class Challenge! Come out and do one OR BOTH! Most people did both and it was a blast!
