Super-G Hosts the PN Racing 2025 PNWC West Coast Regionals
3/16/25
This past weekend Super-G Raceway hosted the 2025 PN Racing PNWC West Coast Regionals. It was a 3 day event, and there were a lot of good drivers present.
As many of you know, Super-G is relatively new to the 1:28 race scene. Our regular Race Director was not able to make it for this weekend, so we ended up relying on Grant Matsushima, Louis Leano, Rob Allen, Melinda Allen, and the man himself, Phil Ng (PN) to run the program. Jennifer from Texas handled Tech all weekend! It was obvious from the start they were no strangers to running this type of event. I don’t think it could have gone much smoother. Huge thank you to all of you for keeping things moving all weekend!
There were 48 drivers with 82 entries. We weren’t sure what to expect but this ended up being the perfect amount to fit on the 1:28 side of our venue. We were prepared to overflow into the Drift side, but it was just right. The Classes: Box Stock, 2WD Stock, Formula One, GTLM Super Stock, 2WD Mod, and Pan Open.
Day One (Seeding):
We opened doors at 9:00am and right away people got right to practicing. There was a mix of Controlled Practice and Open Practice for everyone to get ready. At 5:00pm were the seeding rounds. After that was completed, it was open practice for the rest of the day.
Day Two (Qualifying):
From 9:00am til 11:30am it was open practice. Grant conducted the Drivers Meeting at 11:30am and for the rest of the day it was a mix of Qualifying Rounds and Open Practice. 3 Rounds of Qualifying and the racing was concluded for the day just before 7:00pm. Then it was Open Practice for the rest of the day. It was clear the racing was going to be intense with so many fast drivers present.
Day Three (Race Day):
The Racing all day was intense. So many good drivers, but even more important was everyone was having a great time. The program ran like clockwork with everyone cooperating and making things run smooth.
It was a great event and we learned a lot. Everyone was really helpful and cooperative. We got to finally put faces to the names which is always a big part of any event. We can’t wait for the next one as we dive deeper into 1:28 Racing.
A huge thank you to PN Racing for making this happen, and to everyone for coming out and supporting our first time stepping out of our newly started club racing.
