Jalen Grajo (DS Racing) vs. Alfredo Chan III (Team Weld / Overdose)

On August 15, 2026 Super-G hosted the SDC 2026 SoCal Region Round 4 and Regional Finals. 

As we are quickly approaching the SDC 2026 Worlds Competition, this round was our final chance for real world testing of SDC.RCDrift.io. It has been working great for us, but there have been some tweaks needed to ensure Worlds can run smoothly. It seems like we finally have it.

This was SDC 2026 SoCal Region Round 4 as well as the Regional Finals. So this was the last chance to add those points to determine the SoCal Regional Champion. The points coming into the event were tight among the top 3 points leaders. Jason Fordyce of Team Super-G, Alfredo Chan III of Team Weld / Overdose, and Mikko Yang of Team Reve D U.S.A. Were all in the running to take the title of SoCal Champion.

The Judges for this round were Shaine Collins, Manny Campalans, and Brandon Britt. As always, we are very fortunate to have these guys donating their time and knowledge to make this happen. A huge thank you to you guys!

Qualifying
This round had 5 competitors within a point of each other, so you know these guys were out for blood. Of the 5 Jason Fordyce managed to pull off the TQ run with a 81 point run! Jason is no stranger to taking home TQ. There were 2 others that managed to pull off an 81 point run, John Sun and Matthew Peterson, but going off the secondary score, Jason came out on top! Congratulations Jason on taking home another TQ!

The Battles
The Top 32 came down to Mikko Yang (Team Reve D USA) vs. Parsa Godazandeh (The Establishment) for 3rd and 4th, and Alfredo Chan III (Team Weld / Overdose) vs. Jalen Grajo (DS Racing) for 1st and 2nd.

The Top 32 Bracket

First up was Mikko vs. Parsa. Parsa put down a solid lead run and Mikko a really good chase. Then they swapped places and Mikko was pushing his lead with Parsa putting the pressure. Mikko’s lead was strong and Parsa’s chase was about as good as it gets. Going into Zone 2, Mikko overcooked it a bit and had contact with the barrier. This was enough to secure 3rd Place for Parsa! Congratulations Parsa!

Then it was time for Alfredo vs. Jalen for 1st and 2nd. First was Alfredo on the Lead and Jalen on the Chase. Alfredo put down another one of his extremely clean lead runs, while Jalen answered back with a nice, tight chase. Then they switched positions and Jalen was now on the Lead and Alfredo on the Chase. Jalen put down a really clean lead run, while Alfredo came back at Jalen with a textbook chase. Overall, Alfredo did it all just a little bit better, securing the top spot on the podium! Jalen taking a well deserved 2nd, and Parsa taking 3rd! Congratulations guys!!!

This was a really proud moment as we have been watching both Jalen and Parsa grow as competitors over the years. Recently, they have become real contenders, and tonight was the proof as they stand alongside one of the strongest competitors in the US, Alfredo Chan III on the podium here at Super-G!

The SoCal Regional Point Series
After the season of Jason Fordyce (Team Super-G), Alfredo Chan III (Team Weld / Overdose), and Mikko Yang (Team Reve D USA) battling for the top spot in the points series. It all boiled down to who could put it all together in the Regional Finals. It was anyone’s to win.

How many times have we seen this pic over the past 10 years? 
These guys need no introduction.

It comes as no surprise, when the pressure is on, there is one person that can be counted on to hold it together consistently. Knowing this final round was going to decide who the SoCal Regional Champion is, Alfredo pulled off the win and finished the season with a decisive 46.0 points! This locked him in as the SDC 2026 SoCal Regional Champion! Followed by Jason Fordyce with 41.5 points, and Mikko Yang at 37.0 points. Congratulations guys on a hard fought 2026 season! It was wild watching you all battle so closely in points.

This season Alfredo was consistently on the podium every round. This made all the difference in the points race. Round 1 - 2nd, Round 2 - 3rd, Round 3 - 2nd, and Round 4 - 1st Place! Not only did he finish well every round, but also landed 2 TQ (Top Qualifier) spots! In SoCal I would consider the skill level pretty high, so Alfredo had to stay on top of his game, and show up ready every round. Congratulations Alfredo!

Alfredo will go on to battle at SDC 2026 Worlds Competition in the Special Round - SDC 2026 U.S. Championship - Battle of Champions, representing the Super-G SoCal Region! There he will face off against the other Regional Champions who made it to SDC 2026 Worlds this year. These are the best drivers in the US.
