Futaba 10PXR - A First Look

March 16, 2026
For the past week I have been using the new Futaba 10PXR.
As expected, the “R” is a 10PX with some tweaks to make it just a little bit nicer. I was surprised this time around Futaba not only made some software changes (LED Color Selection), but changed the actual layout of the remote as well.
It’s no secret here that I am a huge fan of Futaba remotes. The 10PX line has raised the bar over the 7PXR which I felt was a perfect remote. The 10PXR just refines it just a bit more.
The New New
Futaba has added a few upgrades over the standard 10PX as expected.

ASA - Adjustable Steering Angle Adapter
This is a new wheel adapter that allows fine tuning of the throw / angle of the steering. Standard is 34 degrees. The ASA adapter allows infinite adjustment between 32-36 degrees, and even allows different throws left and right. The clever design allows you to make these adjustments without removing the wheel once you install this optional adapter. The 10PXR ships with the standard 34 degree non-adjustable adapter, with the ASA in the box incase you want to use it.

Colored LEDs
The 10PXR allows you to choose between 7 different colors for the pilot lights. I know a lot of people like this, including myself.

New Button Layout
Futaba suprised me by changing the button layout. In the pictures I didn’t know how I felt about it, but once I had it in my hands, I found I actually prefer the new layout. The functionalty remains the same, so it’s really just a different look and format.

TFT - Two Finger Throttle Lever (Included Not Installed)
Also included is a Two Finger Throttle Lever. This essentially removes all free play between throttle and brake. I gave this an honest try, and while it does what it is designed to do, I personally could not get used to it. I attribute this to not being able to teach an old dog new tricks, and I’m an old dog for sure. Some of you may be able to take advantage of this new style trigger.
Trigger Stoppers (Included Not Installed)
Provide this time around, there are Trigger Stoppers in 5%, 10%, 15%, and 20% for those who like to customize the throw of their trigger.
Other Changes
In addition Futaba has further refined the 10PXR by adding Ceramic Bearings for smoother operation. They have improved the weight distribution, balance, and ridgity with the use of magnesium in strategic areas, as well as the use of titanium hardware. Depending on how sensitive you are to these things, you may or may not feel the difference.
Overall, the Futaba 10PXR fills the R void that I think a lot of us wait for
The R usually adds that little extra bit of nice, and the 10PXR does exactly that. As much as I am a huge fan of my 10PXUSLE, I will be retiring it for the new 10PXR.
