SDC (Super Drift Competition) Partners with RCDrift.io

This has been a long time in the making! Last year Aaron Mulder of RC Drift Network had come to show us what Josh at RCDrift.io was up to with his RC Drift Scoring System. We had been working on a way to simplify everything for everyone involved in SDC, but it was taking a lot longer than we had hoped. Seeing what Josh had already had in motion, it was a no-brainer that SDC needed to become integrated with RCDrift.io. Aaron put us in contact with Josh, and we have been working together to get this all sorted.

A big part of the decision to get on RCDrift.io is the underlaying objective of SDC, to bring the community together. We knew if we continued to push forward with our own separate system, it would ultimately separate the community. Standings and performance in a completely separate series seemed to be counter-productive in the grand scheme of things. Working with RCDrift.io and integrating SDC with their overall standings, it brings everyone together on a larger, worldwide scale while still allowing SDC to be it's own entity.

Simply put, we feel it is important to make sure all your competitions count toward your standings in RCDrift.io, but at the same time SDC needs to remain it’s own Competition Series. After some trial and error, it seems to have been accomplished. We have done some trial runs to see how it would integrate with our judging and scoring, and Josh was able to get that all handled.

For the past few months we have been ironing out the details, and it looks like we are finally ready to launch. This will be the Official Competition Portal of the SDC Series.

For those of you who are already familiar with RCDrift.io, you will be right at home with the SDC setup. We maintained as much of what RCDrift.io has already established, but with the SDC Competition format in mind.

Final Results

Qualifying order will be automatically sorted according to SDC standards

Brackets will be automatically populated

Bump-Up positions will automatically be assigned

Fight screens are automatically generated

Judging is done from the judges phone

Points are automatically awarded

Point standings are automatically updated

Each Regional Host will still have their page on Super-Drift.com

Your performance will automatically be integreated with RCDrift.io

We hope this makes running SDC Competitions a lot simpler for the Regional Hosts. No more sorting Qualifying Scores. No more logging into Challonge and trying to figure that out. No more submitting scores and waiting for us to get them entered. This should make everything easier and smoother for everyone involved.

Right now we expect to have some growing pains, so please be understanding. A lot of time has gone into this, and is part of why this season has gotten off to a slowish start as far as keeping things updated. We kept thinking we would be ready to launch sooner, but with all that is involved, it just didn't go as quickly as one would hope.

We are excited to finally be able to launch this. We hope the hiccups will be minimal, but we know this is all part of the process to become more streamlined and keep you all integrated in the RCDrift.io system.
