Super-G Goes to Extreme Dimension's 9th Annual Charity Car Show

Saturday, May 9, 2015 Super-G went mobile again for the second week in a row. This time we headed out to Fullerton for Extreme Dimension's 9th Annual Charity Car Show at their facility. IMG_3425.JPG After realizing just how much work it was to tear down our indoor track and take it mobile, we decided to make a track specifically designed to take to different spots away from our facility. Since time was short, we didn't have time to test it, so we were a bit nervous. It worked out better than expected, so we are ready to hit the road at a moments notice now. Katsumi and Oscar Corbian were there bright and early to help with the setup. IMG_3426.JPG We brought along a few things to sell and we also set up a small "Try Me" area so people could actually try RC Drift without the intimidation of being on the same track as the more experienced drivers. Of course we were proudly displaying the Yokomo banner in our booth. IMG_3430.JPG Joe was doing his thing with the new customers. Explaining the differences in chassis, makes, models, and the overview of the hobby in general. We had some show specials going, and a lot of people picked up bodies and wheels to match their full scale cars. IMG_3428.JPG Quite a few people came out to get sideways with Super-G. A big thanks goes out to the Super-G Factory Team Drivers - Alan, Sakura Steve, John, Nick, and Dave, along with our regulars, Oscar and Oscar, George, Tylor, Thomas, Josh, and a bunch of others I can't remember off the top of my head. Thanks to all of you for coming out and showing the crowd how much fun RC Drift can be. Earlier in the day the track was super fast. To the point we were worried it would be just a bash fest. Surprisingly the track slowed down by mid day quite a bit and by the end of the session it was even "too slick". There were some good tandems going on and just overall a great showing. Everyone seemed to have a great time. I know I did! IMG_3427.JPG IMG_3407.JPG There was a steady flow of people coming in and out throughout the day. We had noticed quite a few of the same faces returning time and time again. Most likely future RC Drifters in the making. The event had well over 1500 people in attendance, so we know the exposure for the scene was pretty decent. IMG_3429.JPG Of course being a car show, Project-G would have someone busting out some of our products. This super clean Miata was rocking the Project-G G-Wing, Side G-Fuser System, and our super rare front fenders which have somehow become known as the G-Fenders. Also pictured, RyokuRob front Tow Hook. IMG_3431.JPG Extreme Dimensions' 9th Annual Charity Car Show was definitely a successful outing for Super-G. We were right at home in the car show environment and with full scale car people all around, it didn't take much to convince anyone RC Drift is something worth looking into. Much like the Vape crowd, car people love to modify EVERYTHING. This puts RC right up their alley. We plan to do many other events similar to this. Thanks to everyone who made this possible! SEE YOU GUYS AT SUPER-G!!! IMG_3408.JPG
