On Sunday, May 17, 2015 Super-G grabbed their cars and headed out to the Orange County Fair Grounds in Costa Mesa, California for the Radio Control & Hobby Expo (RCX). Our time was going to be limited since we needed to have the shop opened by 3pm, but we did not want to miss the opportunity to session with some fellow RC Drifters from NorCal.

OneTen Drift Network was hosting the Drift Demo and their track was a great representation of what can be done with props and such for an RC Drift Track. Anyone who is familiar with this aspect of the hobby can appreciate the amount of time and effort that went into this setup.

The track surface was slick so it kept the speeds down, perfect for getting those tandems going. The area was flat, so it made for a really enjoyable session.

In addition to OneTen Drift Network, Wickedwayz Drift Crew, Kyokuro Drift, and Tengu Drift Club, all from NorCal were here to represent. While we were here, Vertex RC from San Diego showed up to get their drift on as well.

It was great to finally put faces to the names we all know from various corners of the web! Even though it was a short session for us since we had to get back to the shop, it was really a pleasure to session with these guys! OneTen Drift Network – Jeremy Huls, Travis Spriggs, and Jeremy Kline. Kyoruko Drift Crew – Jan-Michael. Tengu Drift Club – Derel Yow, Zay Tran, and Michael Woods. Vertex RC – Josh Gumban and Dat Nguyen. Finally Super-G – Mark Santa Cruz, Dave Smith, Joe Tam, and myself, Steve Fujita.

I
t was a great time at RCX 2015! I can’t speak much for the show itself since we spent all of our time at the drift track, but that was what we were there for anyway. There was a lot of skill on the track and I’m sure there were many new people who were exposed to RC Drift and the great hobby it is. Thanks to OneTen Drift Network and Jeremy for including Super-G in this event. I’m sure there will be many more in the near future.

SEE YOU GUYS AT SUPER-G!
